What Makes David and Patrick’s Lovestory So Special?
Schitt’s Creek showed how there are no barriers in love
I have grown up watching TV and relished on-screen romance.
The complicated love between Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big (Sex and the City) kept me invested for six seasons. I rooted for Chandler and Monica (Friends). I, in fact, find Carrie from Homeland and Brody’s unhealthy relationship exciting. Clair and Jamie made me skipped a beat in their time-traveling adventure(Outlander).
Among all those, there was one couple that made my heart weep like no one else on TV.
I am talking about David and Patrick, the gay couple from the Canadian hit comedy Schitt’s Creek.
One of the best things that happened to me in 2020 was finding Schitt’s Creek. The show’s been running since 2015, but it only caught my attention after swooping all the major Emmys last year. It was a perfect lockdown surprise.
The show felt like the ray of hope, the sunshine in the deadly winter. I laughed, and I felt happy, like I hadn’t felt in a really long time. Although I loved everything about the show, one thing that stood out the most was David and Patrick's relationship.
