Our parents try to save us from the worst of the world.

However, when we grow old, we see how the facade they created to live safely and away from the world’s cruelty was a house of cards.

Growing up showed me many truths about life that elders didn’t share. It was only through various experiences.

Sharing such ugly truths about life that I learned late.

  1. People only want you as long as you’re convenient to them. People only want to do something for you when they know they can leverage it for their benefit.
  2. Life is not fair. Some people are born to billionaires, and some don’t live in orphanages. It’s not because of who they are but because life is unpredictable.
  3. The world is a messed up place. You won’t understand why there are so many cold wars, political battles, and marches. Even grown-ups don’t know what they are fighting for or the meaning of life.
  4. Rich aren’t always happy. Poor aren’t always sad. It’s how we cultivate and define happiness that makes the difference. Finding your happiness button and turning it on is the only way to be internally happy.
