The era of over-edited videos and highly edited photos seems to be dying a slow death. People have started noticing technology's domination on social media thanks to AI.

The world seems to be taking a collective step back into a simpler era when things were simpler and straightforward.

Pictures are brighter and more vivid. Don’t get me started on videos—not only do some of them look straight from Hollywood, but they also show a cunning side of artificial intelligence.

Everything looks top-notch and the same. It’s too perfect for my palette. I miss seeing my friends' real faces on my feed amid avatars that don’t look like them.

Have we taken it too far?

The Fake Perfection Is So 2017

When introduced to the social media world, I was in awe of creators like Marie Forleo and Neil Patel. Marie’s freshly done hair and flowers in the background and Neil’s white background with animation hooked me to their content.

I thought I couldn't be a creator if I couldn’t look or animate that way. Everything was perfect in 2017 when the creator economy was beginning to rise.
