It was 8.20 PM, 20 minutes past our dinner time. I was waiting for my family to come down for dinner.

Every minute felt like an eternity as I waited without my phone, which I daringly decided to leave in my room upstairs.

“Was it the right move?”

"Was it the right move?" I asked myself as I waited for our house help to finish laying food on the table. I stared at everything in those 12 minutes: the china we've never used to the pattern on the curtains in the living room. I started breathing deeply, just anything to keep myself busy.

I noticed the details of the rug beneath me. I had never seen the paisley in the middle section.

I looked like a fool just sitting there waiting without my phone.

It's not just me; a recent study revealed that the global average screen time for people aged between 16 and 64 in 2023 was 6 hours and 37 minutes.

Phone addiction has become a severe challenge affecting professional as well as personal life. The relationship we have with our phones has become more vital than ever.

The more time we spend on the phone, the less time we have to work or nurture…
