As a child in a single-parent family, I was told that if I wanted anything, I had to work for it.

That one thought got tattooed in my mind. After that, I managed to buy my first iPhone and a camera taking freelance projects while studying in college. It made me feel invincible. I felt powerful because I didn’t need to ask my mom for anything.

During the same time, I stumbled upon Gary Vaynerchuk, who introduced me to the hustle culture. And man, I did learn tons from that guy.

I was doing exactly what he asked; don’t complain — just put in the work.

How much work was too much work? That he never mentioned.

The Horse Mindset

I read Gary’s Crush It twice and tried my best to follow his advice.

I spent most of my free time writing answers on the internet for strangers on Quora and expanded my creative journey to various platforms.

I was the horse, or instead of trying to become one, preparing myself for a long race. There was no halt and no final destination. I acted as I was the highest bidder, training to be the Micheal Jordon of the horse racing…
